DAY 2 OVERVIEW

The second day of the event will be a little less formal than the first. The idea is to re-introduce everyone to each other, now with more context to what they do and what they focus on at work.

This isn’t about pitching to each other, though. This is about finding commonalities. The emerging tech industry is filled with a wide variety of skill sets and goals. What are people doing that is working (or not) and what do they recommend to their peers? What new technologies or use cases (beyond their own) are exciting?

In the right kind of environment (which INSPIRING INNOVATION is hoping to achieve), opening up to the group can lead to even more connections and/or opportunities.

I saw this happen with the group I was part of at the World Economic Forum Futures Summit. For each topic that was raised, someone in the group knew someone who could help. It wasn’t 6 Degrees of Separation. It was 1-2 Degrees, almost every time. That feeling of interconnection was amazing.

As INSPIRING INNOVATION grows, I hope to recreate that kind of feeling for everyone who attends. Innovation in emerging technologies is overwhelming right now. But with the right network of people, everyone can navigate it much easier and with a greater chance of success. Sept 19 (the second day of the kick-off event) is just the beginning.
